Women's Soccer Team Beats Mansfield

BLOOMSBURG -- Lauren Hess's (East Greenville/Upper Perkiomen) goal in the 71st minute lifted the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Mansfield on Tuesday night.

Bloomsburg dominated play in the first half getting off nine shots to one for the Mountaineers, but could not score. Hess then finally found the back of the net in the 71st minute with an assist going to Kristine Preski (Pottstown/Owen J. Roberts). Bloomsburg goalie Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) made three saves in the win.

The Huskies, 9-3, 5-2 in the PSAC East,play at home with Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at 3 p.m.
